NTC inrush current limiter

In a circuit or a circuit which capacitor, filament,
heater or inverter / ballast for fluorescent lamp contains, the
Inrush current to be 10~100 times higher than normal operation.
This can be avoided by the use of an NTC thermistor which is connected in series.
is switched.
The larger cold resistance (zero power resistance) of the thermistor limits
thereby the inrush current when switching on.
After switching on, the flowing current leads to self-heating of the
thermistor, whereupon it reduces its resistance value to a very low ohmic value, allowing normal operating current.
