Main components

The moving contact is welded to the bimetal plate and then to the iron holder. The stationary silver contact and the base are formed into a whole. After the current flows through the temperature calibration plate and the bimetal disk, it forms a circuit from the moving contact to the static contact.


Under normal conditions, the moving contact is in close contact with the stationary silver contact under the pre-pressing pressure of the bimetallic disk. When the rated operating temperature is reached, the bimetal disk is deformed by the heat and quickly flips over, interrupting the circuit. The appliance then starts to cool down. When the defined reset temperature is reached, the bimetal disk and the spring plate snap back into their initial position, the contacts close again and the appliance starts working again.
